Price backwards from the profit you want
Most fee calculators answer "what do I keep at this price?" The price-for-profit tool answers the question sellers actually have: "what do I need to list at to clear $20 on this item?" It solves every platform at once so you can see where the same profit needs the lowest price.
How marketplace fees work
Every marketplace charges some mix of four fee types. A listing or insertion fee is a fixed charge for putting the item up (Etsy's $0.20, eBay's $0.35 after your free allowance). A commission or final value fee is a percentage of the sale, and the important question is what it is a percentage of: item only (Whatnot, Poshmark, StockX) or item plus shipping (Etsy, eBay, Mercari, TikTok Shop) or item plus shipping plus sales tax (eBay, Etsy's processing fee). A payment processing fee is a percentage plus a fixed amount for handling the card payment, sometimes bundled into the commission. And promotion fees such as Etsy Offsite Ads, eBay Promoted Listings or Depop Boosts only apply when the sale came through the promotion.
Three platforms have moved fees onto the buyer instead: Vinted (buyer protection fee), Depop (marketplace fee in the US) and partly Mercari (3.6% buyer protection). Those platforms show a lower fee to you, but the buyer sees a higher total, which affects how you should price.
