Depop seller fees explained
Depop stopped charging sellers a commission in 2024, first in the UK and then in the US. What remains is payment processing, which is a percentage plus a fixed amount on the full order including shipping, and an optional Boosted Listing fee if you paid to promote the item.
US buyers now pay a marketplace fee at checkout instead (up to 5% plus up to $1). It does not reduce your payout, but it raises the price the buyer sees.

Notice how the effective rate falls as the price rises on platforms with fixed fees, and stays flat on pure-percentage platforms. That is the whole story of which marketplace suits cheap versus expensive items.

How to pay less on Depop
- With only processing to pay, Depop is the cheapest major US marketplace for fashion by a wide margin: about 3.3% + $0.45 against Poshmark's 20%.
- Boosting now adds 12% on UK and US sales, charged only if the boosted item sells. That makes it worth it for stale listings, not for items that would sell anyway.
- The fixed $0.45 matters on low-priced items. On a $5 sale it is 9%.
